Mountain Bike Nosara to Playa Ostional, Costa Rica

¡Hola from Costa Rica. I can’t believe we have been here a week already! Where does the time go? Oh yes, biking, surfing, swimming, napping and eating. Pura Vida indeed.
We are in Playa Guiones which is near the town of Nosara in Gunacaste Province. Our rental house is situated in the jungle and is a 5 min. bike ride to the beach. Luckily we all brought our bikes and have used them to commute everyday. It’s actually nice to not have to worry about a car.

We are also getting some mountain biking in. On Sunday we did a 22 km family ride to Playa Ostional.  A large proportion of the world’s olive ridley turtle population nests at Ostional. We were a little concerned about our 6 year old riding the entire way on his 20 inch mountain bike but he had no problems. We joked that we are training him to be an endurance rider even though he has plans to be the next Cavendish. Below are some photos from our ride. Sorry no pictures of turtles as there was no Arribada going on.

  1. Ah man! This looks awesome! I also just checked out pics of the rental house. Amazing. We’re so following in your footsteps one of these years.
