Moab is a mountain bike mecca in the southeast corner of Utah. With two National Parks close to town, Arches and Canyonlands, it’s also a tourist hot spot. And when I say tourist spot I mean the town can be totally overwhelming with people and cars everywhere. Still we always seem to find peace and fun on the trails with all our visits. The winters are mild although snow in the La Sals are certain and trails may have a dusting of snow or ice at times. The summers are hot with temps reaching over 100.

Hint: don’t go in the summer or middle of winter. Spring and Fall are the best times for adventures in Moab.

In this guide, you’ll find everything you need to plan an unforgettable trip: where to ride, eat, sleep, and explore in Moab. Check these posts and then leave us a comment about your favorite trail or place to eat! We love to hear from you.

Mountain Biking Trails in Moab

Back in the early 90s Moab was ‘the hotspot’ for mountain bikers. When other areas, like Fruita, started making trails in the late 90s and early 2000s Moab stepped up their trail development from Slickrock to more purpose-built trails.

And by purpose-built I mean rocks, lots of rocks, but well placed. You’ll get punchy climbs and rock gardens, little elevation gain/loss (unless you do the Whole Enchilada), and amazing views in every direction.

If you’re one of those that hates blue flow trails – you’re in luck. You will not find a ton of flow in Moab.
