Tortolita preserve is a 9.2 mile ride north of Tucson. We read that it was a good trail for beginner/intermediates with “some sand.” It was a pretty easy trail for us but the sand was a little rough for Kalden. That stuff was deep in spots and you needed power to get through it. Our 1- 2 hour ride turned into 3 hours. I think Kalden had a better attitude than I did at the end. We were all a bit tired but the scenery was terrific.
Ride Info: Check SDMB website.
Positives Tortolita Preserve: Saguaro cactus, flat, easy for adult riders, fun rolling downhill section in the middle.
Negatives Tortolita Preserve: Sand, harder for kids without power, kind of boring.
